Private research notes: account copies, browser copies and backups
Understand where your property research is saved, how version conflicts work and how to restore an exported passport.

Choose where to save
Browser notes stay in that browser profile. Save private account copy sends the research fields to your authenticated account so you can open them on another device. Other customers cannot access your account copies. A shared browser profile may expose browser-saved notes to other people using it.
Keep notes separate from verified facts
Your findings do not change the public catalog, seller availability, foreign ownership status or platform verification. Do not enter identity documents, passwords, bank details or confidential personal records. The workspace accepts short research notes and evidence links; it is not a document vault.
Understand version conflicts
Each account copy has a revision. A save based on an older revision is rejected instead of overwriting a newer copy. Export your local edits, load the current account copy and reconcile the differences before saving again. Loading or importing replaces unsaved editor notes, so export first when keeping both matters.
Back up and restore
Export the passport as JSON and store it somewhere you control. Restore accepts only a matching PropertyAlpha passport for the same property identifier. Imported data stays in the editor until you explicitly save it. A backup does not make an old source current or establish that a finding is correct.
Archive without losing the copy
The account list can archive and restore private research. Archiving is reversible and does not erase the account copy. Browser data and JSON backups remain separate. Paid services, automated alerts and a complete commercial support process are not active in this pilot.
